Week Nine: Four Keys to Growing Your Vision & Living Your Dreams

Growing your vision and living your dream from the unseen to the seen is like growing a rather ordinary looking seed or bulb into it’s assigned beautiful flower.  It’s not magic, although it seems magical, but instead it is a process that works with flowers and with our dreams.  Following are four steps in the process.  Certainly there are nuances and additional opportunities all along the way but if you do these four, you will be well on your way to growing your vision and living your dream.

1. Clarify your desired outcome.  Decide what exactly it is that you want.  I can’t tell you how many times as a coach and speaker I encounter people who say they want something different or more but are unable to clearly articulate exactly what that something different or more is.  Only you totally know what would make your heart sing.  Consider the three things all people desire as a starting point: health, wealth and love.  Identify it.  Write it down and begin to get excited.

2. Second, visualize what you’ve identified as your desire in as clear of detail as you can.  Keep in mind, as the Master Key Part 9 spells out, visualization is a very different process from simply seeing.  Seeing is physical and is therefore related to the objective mind and world but visualization is a product of the imagination, and is therefore a product of the subjective mind and world.  It therefore possesses vitality; it will grow.  With practice and determination, the thing visualized will manifest itself in form.  That leads to point three.

3. Affirm it at least daily…more is better.  One affirmation that was shared in our reading was pretty powerful and something most of us would embrace for ourselves.  (I will share it momentarily.) That is certainly okay however I want to encourage you to be sure the affirmation you choose to use is directly supportive of your vision…your dream.  My heartfelt affirmation may do absolutely nothing for you and visa versa.  It’s all about growing YOUR vision.  Here’s the affirmation I mentioned above: “I am whole, perfect, strong, powerful, loving, harmonious and happy.”  Use your affirmation any time your thoughts are contrary to where you want to go or to simply inspire you to move forward.

4. Finally, and most importantly–believe!  You must release any doubts, fears, or apprehensions about it and foster a confident belief that it is not only possible but that you expect to see it in short order.

Tulips are my favorite flower…they are so colorful and vibrant. Even dogs love them!  I see my dream life as a most beautiful array of tulips which always brings a smile to my face.

Week Eight: The World Really Needs Love

Ok, I know the title of this blog is rather broad but the application of it is needed in every aspect of our living, working and breathing.  A couple of weeks ago I mentioned that the Og Mandino Scroll we, the Master Key Masterminders, are reading this month is the one marked two.  The driving message is “I greet this day with love in my heart.”  It is a personal message we are sowing in our minds consistently for 30 days.  What would be absolutely astounding, fabulous, amazing and incredible, etc. is if the world at large did the same.  Boy, do we need it…in our politics…in our workplaces…in our churches…in our communities, in our police forces, in our homes…everywhere!  No, it is not required to verbally express it…it works quite effectively simply thinking it and expressing it through your eyes.  Your energy, whatever it is, is discernible.  Wouldn’t it just be remarkable if that energy said, I love you?

I’m in route to shower some love on my mother, sisters, and other family members for the Thanksgiving holiday season.  I just checked into a hotel to break up the drive and get a few hours of sleep and thought I’d record a little bit of the song that keeps playing over in my head.  It addresses exactly what we all need to give and receive…love!

Week Seven: Limited or Limitless? It’s Your Choice!

limitless-quotes-6.jpg  In simple terms we have two aspects of our mind…two distinct functions and/or responsibilities.  One is limited or more confined and the other is limitless with astounding capability.  Both the limited aspect of our minds and the unlimited aspect have value and play an important role in our achieving optimal success.  One part, however, presents to the average person a definitive advantage over the other.  Can you guess which one?

For as far back as I can recall and likely well before then, our society has focused almost exclusively to the development and use of the more limited part of our mental capability — the conscious or objective mind.  We teach to it, test for it, hire and promote significantly based on how well a person has used or uses it.  What has not been examined and leveraged significantly is the limitless part of our mental capability — the subconscious or subjective mind.  Fully accessing and leveraging it’s power has broadly been ignored.

This week’s Master Key reading seemed to make this case very simply.  Check out a couple of the passages… Hannal says, “The personal or conscious/objective mind has the power of will and choice and can therefore exercise discrimination in the selection of methods to bring about the solutions you seek.  The impersonal, or spiritual/subjective mind cannot exercise such choice BUT it has Infinite resources at its command.  It can and does bring about results by methods which the human or individual mind can have no possible conception.”   He goes on to say, “…it is your privilege to depend upon the human will with all its limitations and misconceptions OR you may utilize the potentialities of Infinity by make use of the subconscious mind.”  So limited or limitless?  Which do you choose to develop and strengthen?  As the quote says up top, you have what it takes to make your dreams come true.  Reawaken your limitless mindset!

Interest peaked?  Great…it’s certainly a fascinating and “life-changing process, well worth it…and a topic for another blog post.  Come back soon or sign up for RSS feed. Until next time…and always, keep believing!

Week Six-Two: 3 Things Will Last Forever, 1 is Greatest!

Greatest of these is Love

This month as part of our Master Key Mastermind reading we are reading Scroll 2 of The Greatest Salesman by Og Mandino.  The driving message is to “Greet each day with love in your heart.”  After my daily reading of the scroll I immediately re-read a snippet from a letter St Paul wrote the Corinthian church eons ago.  He said, “Three things will last forever–faith, hope and love–and the greatest of these is love.” (1 Corinthians 13:13)  Og Mandino placed love center stage with it being the first skill application message he drives home with his scrolls. He reinforces the critically important roll love has in the marketplace and our lives.  Earlier in the Corinthian letter, Paul gives some specific insight on what love looks like in practical living and working situations.  Check it out:  Love is patient and kind.  Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude.  It does not demand its own way.  It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged.  It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out.  Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful and endures through every circumstance.  (1 Corinthians 13: 4-7) Whew!  Did you get that?  Are you living that?  Can you imagine if we all lived loving like that–what an incredible world it would be.  Indeed faith is also important and will last forever.  Without it it is impossible to please God.  And hope, where would we be without hope?…without it we might as well pack up our marbles and go sit in a corner.  But love–it’s transformative on all fronts and is indeed the greatest of all.  Join me in choosing to let love be our driving force and watch for the greatest ripple effect. All month I’ll be posting ideas and insights related to love so come back again for more…and pass it on to others as an act of love..  Finally, although I can’t physically see you nor you me, imagine if you will that I am looking you straight in your eyes and silently saying, “I love you!”  With you being one of God’s children also on this life journey at this time AND love is the greatest gift I can give, I do!

Week Six: Pay Attention!

Now pay attention!  When I read / hear this phrase I for some reason flash back to some point as a child when I’m sure it was said…probably in school or church.  Little did I know then that the suggested act of paying attention was and is such a powerful, life defining choice.  This week in our Master Key reading the following words were found, “So with the power of thought; let power be dissipated by scattering the thought from one object to another, and no result is apparent; but focus this power through attention or concentration on any single purpose for any length of time and nothing becomes impossible.”  Optimal productivity and achievement is a result of focused attention.  Greater understanding is often a by-product of focused attention.  New revelations and ideas many times spring from focused attention and concentration on a matter or situation.  With so many wonderful benefits to focused attention and concentration, why is it not a common state among us all.  The easy and most obvious answer is an overabundance of choices.  With technological “advances” being foundational, all of us hear, see and have so many options and messages before us at any moment.  Distraction and schizophrenic thinking and subsequent behavior is at an all time high.  …Perhaps indeed, less is more.

Further in our reading this week we were challenged to begin cultivating the power of attention and I’d like to challenge you as well.  Try this:  Examine a photograph, ideally with a person in it, at least 10 minutes.  Note the expression of the eyes, the features, the clothing, the way the hair is arranged; in fact, note every detail shown on the photograph carefully.  Now, cover it and close your eyes and try to see it mentally.  If you can see every detail perfectly and can form a good mental image of the photograph, you are to be congratulated; if not, repeat the process until you can.

How observant are you?  Are you able to call upon your ability to concentrate and capture at will?  Can you sustain it over time?  If so, that’s awesome…use it to propel your life forward as you choose.  The most amazing and wonderful application of this ability is to hold your desired result in your situation or life in your inner consciousness or mind until it becomes a part of your outward experience. Simply put, in the voice of a concerned teacher or parent, decide what you want and then…”pay attention!”

Week 6 – Live by the Compass not the Clock

I really love this post. Thought you might too. Enjoy!

In the MasterKey 6:19 it states “The cultivation of attention is the distinguishing characteristic of every successful man or woman, and is the very highest personal accomplishment which can be acquired.” This is just evidence that I am on the right path to living my life by the compass. I have been a member of Lumosity for quite a while now and I did a summary of the last 4 weeks. Check out the Attention results below.

attention (1)

Two new tools I have added to my toolbox this week are a compass and a magnifying glass. These symbols give me a constant reminder of staying on course and the power of focus. Hannel states in 6:21 “So with the power of thought, let power be dissipated by scattering the thought from one object to another, and no result is apparent; but focus this power through attention or concentration on any single…
